The Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota has provided excellence in education, research and service for the residents of South Dakota for nearly 100 years.  Today the school continues to be recognized for outstanding achievements, demonstrating the high caliber of its educational programs.

Centennial Symposium
On June 13-15, 2008 the Sanford School of Medicine will culminate the celebration  of its centenary which occurs during the academic year 2007-2008. The school has witnessed remarkable advancement in biomedical research during this time. As the school celebrates its first century of achievements, it is also essential to look forward. The Centennial Symposium will be geared to providing the ground work for establishing the road map for the next century of discovery. Eight visionary scientists will present their views on the best strategies for establishing and maintaining bridges between basic science researchers and clinical scientists in a number of focus areas including cancer, cardiovascular, microbiology, neuroscience, and women's health research.
