what

is

TRIO?

The TRIO programs at the University of South Dakota (USD) are federally funded by the US Department of Education. The programs identify qualified youth or adults who are low-income and/or first-generation college students. Participants are selected according to their potential for academic success.

TRIO at the U is comprised of four programs:

The ultimate goal of each program is to assist participants in the completion of their post secondary education. Student Support Services staff work with students that are in college. The other programs are working with high school students ensuring they are aware and prepared for the challenges of post secondary education. Each program has its own goals, objectives and clientele. To see the specific details of one of the programs click on one of their respective links.

TRIO is under the Division of Student Services.

The Division of Student Services Mission Statement:
The Division of Student Services provides opportunities for all students to apply skills and knowledge to everyday life by expanding on the academic, professional, personal, social and diverse environments that challenge them to develop as emerging leaders.
