Solving Real World Problems with Expert Research

Our research team provides:

  • Policy Analysis: evaluate policy alternatives in order to achieve a given set of goals. We can also analyze the outcomes of current policies and help to predict the outcomes of policy change.
  • Strategic Planning: create a vision for organizations by crafting a series of steps that will help achieve long-term success.
  • Community Development: help your community identify and achieve its goals.
  • Program Evaluation: set goals, create a program to achieve them and understand the degree to which those goals have been met.

The Government Research Bureau is an official member of the Association of Academic Survey Research Organizations, which promotes excellence and integrity in the conduct of survey research.

Student Researchers Wanted

Undergraduate students who are interested in public service careers should consider working with the Government Research Bureau (GRB). The GRB is an academic research organization that combines intellectual risk-taking with current research methods to analyze issues affecting the State of South Dakota.

By partnering with students to participate in actual research, the GRB fosters a learning environment with close interaction of faculty. This close collaboration with student workers gives faculty the opportunity to provide professional feedback and recognition.

It is well known that scholarly activity helps make undergraduates’ resumes more attractive to graduate schools and prospective employers. It also gives faculty members the interaction needed to write detailed letters of recommendation.

The Government Research Bureau allows students to have hands-on applied research opportunities and to use those skills to help a variety of organizations. It's a unique experience that's been invaluable in opening doors in my career.
