David Moskowitz earned his doctorate in Musicology from the University of Kansas in 2001. He has been teaching music history at the undergraduate and graduate level at USD since that time. In the intervening period, Moskowitz has published a pair of encyclopedias (Caribbean Popular Music and Best Band 100 Bands of All-Time), several monographs (two biographies of Bob Marley and one of Jimi Hendrix), and a multitude of articles/book chapters.
