Drug addiction is a chronic, relapsing and debilitating disorder. Understanding the biological changes underlying addiction is imperative for developing effective interventions. My laboratory’s research focuses on understanding the changes in the brain that occurs following methamphetamine use in a preclinical model of drug addiction. Additionally, we strive to understand the role of sex/gender in these changes. Ultimately, the goal of this research is to use these findings to develop effective interventions for drug addiction.
