“In the realm of precision healthcare, medicine and big data are merged together,” said Venky Venkatachalam, dean of the Beacom School of Business. “University of South Dakota academic programs are well-positioned to provide expertise to meet the needs of the industry in this emerging interdisciplinary field.”
The Beacom Scholar Series showcases the business school’s faculty and outside speakers through presentations of their research. The series aims to recognize research, provide a forum to pursue collaborative research, and celebrate and recognize research successes. The presenters in the series are mostly USD faculty members, but speakers from other universities who are recognized and well established scholars in their own field have been brought in as well. Students are encouraged attend so that they can learn about research opportunities.
