Beacom School of Business Accounting Student Wins Reputable Scholarship
Sophia Lima, a University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business accounting student, was recently awarded a $10,000 scholarship by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
The PCAOB, which recently announced 332 scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year, provides financial assistance to future accountants who are enrolled in either a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university. Nominated students must demonstrate interest and aptitude in accounting and exhibit high ethical standards.
“We are very pleased that Sophia has been selected to receive this prestigious scholarship in recognition for her great academic achievements,” said Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the Beacom School of Business. “Her dedication and academic aptitude made her a great candidate for the scholarship.”
