Beta Alpha Psi at USD is Superior Chapter for sixth straight yearNews
Criteria for Superior Chapter status include successful professional meetings, regional competition success and community service. During the 2011-12 academic year, BAP members organized several campus meetings and seminars with accounting and business professionals, including the chapter’s annual CPA Showcase and the 2012 Arthur Volk Symposium, which included well-known author and security consultant Frank Abagnale. Chapter members also volunteered their time to community service projects and hosted various presentations from regional companies such as Deloitte, Cain Ellsworth, Eide Bailly, McGladrey, Ketel Thorstensen and KPMG. Additionally, USD chapter members helped instruct area high school students at USD’s Accounting Summer Camp.
“We are fortunate to have an enthusiastic officer core who make sure that all of our campus events are a success, whether it’s a small presentation or a large community service project,” said Srini Ragothaman, Ph.D., professor of accounting at USD and BAP adviser. “Being recognized for this award six consecutive years is a tribute to all of our officers and members and their hard work and dedication.”
