Details on Colette Abbott Memorial Service
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Doors will open at 9 a.m. Monday, two hours before the start of the memorial service for Colette Abbott, wife of University of South Dakota President James W. Abbott, who died suddenly Wednesday at her home.
The service starts at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, in Aalfs Auditorium in Slagle Hall on the USD campus. It will also be livestreamed on youtube.com/user/CoyoteCampusNews.
The family is also hosting an open house at the president’s residence, 415 East Main Street, on Sunday, May 8, from 2-5 p.m. All are welcome.
The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to the James W. and Colette Abbott scholarship at the USD Foundation or to the Children’s Home Society.
