Onward Campaign Update Highlights USD Foundation Sioux Falls Opening
The University of South Dakota Foundation’s Onward campaign has raised more than $160 million during the past 3 1/2 years toward a seven-year $250 million goal, USD Foundation CEO and President Steve Brown said Thursday as part of the foundation’s opening of a newly relocated Sioux Falls office.
The campaign, launched in January 2012, has four campaign pillars:
- $97 million for scholarships;
- $12 million for student and faculty enrichment through research, conferences and travel abroad;
- $29 million toward endowments for professors and department chairs; and
- $112 million for new buildings and improvements for athletics and Health Sciences, the National Music Museum, the School of Law and Fine Arts.
Brown was to update donors and supporters at the open house at 101 S. Phillips Ave., Suite 508. “With nearly 20 percent of our alumni in the greater Sioux Falls area, it makes sense to be here,” he said of the 9th and Phillips location.
“With the success of the campaign, our staff has grown. That has resulted in the need for additional space. The foundation is pleased to be in the heart of downtown," Brown added.
