Rawlins Piano Trio to Play Fall Concerts in Three States
The group has recently begun to explore the trios of German classical composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel, and the program begins with his Trio No. 6, Op. 93, which offers gracious, lyrical melodies and charming playfulness. Continuing its interest in promoting American music, the trio will perform “Address,” composed in 1999 by M. Scott Robbins. The central work of the program is the masterful “Dumky” Trio by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák..
Dates and times of the fall concerts: Tuesday, Sept. 22, Fergus Falls Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls, Minnesota; Monday, Sept. 28, Colton Recital Hall in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts at USD in Vermillion; and Thursday, Oct. 1, Strauss Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Nebraska.
Since its founding in 1987, the Rawlins Piano Trio has distinguished itself as a dynamic group of performers, teachers and scholars. The ensemble performs regularly throughout the United States and abroad, including concert and teaching tours throughout Taiwan and Panama and South Korea.
