Sorority and Fraternity Life Fall Recap and Spring Preview
Members of the sorority and fraternity community continued to meet high standards of recruitment, philanthropy and academic success in the fall semester of 2016. Here are the final statistics:
- A record 305 men went through fraternity recruitment, with 176 completing the recruitment process. Of the 150 new sorority members, 139 entered the sorority that was their first choice.
- The sorority and fraternity community earned a fall GPA of 3.264, compared to the all-campus average of 3.132.
- At the end of 2016 there were 1,059 sorority and fraternity members at USD. That amounts to 21 percent of the undergraduate population, which is up 1 percent from last year. The community performed 16,427 hours of community service and raised $98,468 for various philanthropies.
