South Dakota College Students Invited to Submit Art for Law School Contest
VERMILLION, S.D. -- The Native American Law Student Association at the University of South Dakota is sponsoring an art contest that’s open to all college students in the state. The theme, which coincides with the group’s symposium this month, is the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).
One piece of artwork (painting, drawing, photography, collage, some mixed media) featuring the theme will be permanently displayed in the courtroom at the USD School of Law. The winner will also receive a $100 prize. All entries will be on display around the school through the duration of the March 30-31 symposium. Artists may also be present for the symposium and pick up their own work at the end of the event.
Each artist must drop off or mail submissions to the attention of NALSA at the School of Law by March 18. Questions and requests for an entry form and details may be sent to [email protected]. More information on the Indian Child Welfare Act is available at http://www.nicwa.org/Indian_Child_Welfare_Act/.
