Students from Seven States Attend USD Summer Music Camp
VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota Department of Music recently hosted 205 middle and high school students at the 65th annual USD Summer Music Camp.
Students from seven different states assembled on campus to immerse themselves in music for the week of July 10-15. In addition to daily rehearsals in large ensembles like band, choir, and orchestra, students attending the camp had the opportunity to participate in more than 20 additional ensembles and music classes, five different concerts, and the camp generated more than 100 hours of individual private lessons. The staff of nearly 60 worked with the students during the week to enhance their music skills and foster their passion for the art.
The 66th annual USD Summer Music Camp is scheduled for July 9-14, 2017. Registration is open to students who have completed 5th through 12th grades.
