From the Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute to the South Dakota Governor's Camp, USD is set to host a wide variety of programs this summer, offering opportunities for middle and high school students to learn, create and connect.

Learn more about just a few of the events, camps and institutes taking place on USD’s campus this summer.

1. Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute

Dates: June 4-11

The Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute inspires the next generation of Native American artists, giving students the opportunity to attend studio classes, learn alongside talented artists, hear from guest speakers and more.

2. Dakota Dreams Camp

Dates: June 18-22

The Dakota Dreams Camp gives students the opportunity to explore 11 different career paths through engaging activities and tours of area businesses and industries. The camp also promotes an understanding of students’ personal career interests and how education connects to these professions.

3. Business Analytics Adventure

Dates: July 9-13

The Business Analytics Adventure gives students the opportunity to utilize Beacom’s Ellis Finance & Analytics lab, gain hands-on experience, collaborate on projects, learn from USD Beacom faculty, network with alumni, explore USD’s campus and more.

4. Summer Accounting Institute

Dates: July 9-13

The Summer Accounting Institute allows students to explore the accounting field, learn from USD Beacom faculty, connect with peers, and experience life on the USD campus, among other opportunities.

5. Summer Music Camp

Dates: July 9-14

The Summer Music Camp includes vocal and instrumental ensembles and allows students to participate in rehearsals, sectionals, classes, private lessons and musical performances.

6. South Dakota Governor’s Camp

Dates: July 16-21

The South Dakota Governor’s Camp inspires students to go beyond the classroom and take hands-on courses in subjects that interest them, with options covering science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM). Students are encouraged to complete 12 rigorous educational sessions, in addition to getting a glimpse of college life, hearing from inspiring speakers and engaging in recreational activities.
