“The USD Audiology program provided me extensive training and overwhelming support over the last three years,” said Arra. “I am eternally grateful to have landed this position.”

Arra, from Norristown, Pennsylvania, completed a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences and disorders from James Madison University. He will complete his doctor of audiology degree from USD in 2018.

At Yale, Arra worked with audiologists and physicians in the full-service Yale Hearing and Balance Center. He also had the opportunity to observe physicians in the operating room and complete a clinical research project to be presented at the Otolaryngology Resident Research Forum.

“With a diagnosed hearing loss at age two, my perception of hearing loss changed drastically since my education began at USD,” said Arra. “My educational and clinical experiences in the USD audiology program has inadvertently led me to overcome my self-consciousness, as well as expand my competency and knowledge on the relationship between patient satisfaction and appropriate care.”
