“Undergraduate certificates allow non-business students to customize their degree, open the door to new career pathways and increase their employment potential after graduation,” said Venky, Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the USD Beacom School of Business. “Our new marketing essentials and digital marketing certificates provide incredible value to all industries, especially USD students in all majors.”

The Marketing Essentials Undergraduate Certificate helps students understand and apply key marketing principles to support the success of an organization. Developing foundational knowledge of promotions, sales, consumer behavior and other key marketing principles is valuable for any career that requires effective communication and an ability to use marketing in strategic ways.

The Digital Marketing Undergraduate Certificate is designed to help students navigate and succeed in an increasingly digital and global world. This certificate will provide foundational marketing principles with a focus on applying those principles to a consumer’s digital experience utilizing cutting-edge tools and technology. Students will enhance their career opportunities through their understanding and ability to develop cohesive digital marketing strategies and effective digital campaigns.

The undergraduate certificates in marketing essentials and digital marketing each require nine credits of coursework.

The Beacom School of Business also offers undergraduate certificates in small business entrepreneurship, management and personnel supervision. The certificate programs are designed for mid-level managers, business owners and students who wish to improve productivity, efficiency and organizational processes.
