USD Chemistry Student Places Third in MIT Contest
Shrestha, a native of Nepal, was among the 10 graduate student finalists selected for participation in the Fourth Annual Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Symposium. Some of the other participating universities included Boston University, MIT, University of California, Berkeley and University of Michigan. Her poster was entitled “Solar Energy Conversion of Waste Water into Hydrogen as a Renewable Fuel."
Shrestha is in her final year of M.S. program and pursuing research in the group of Chemistry professor Ranjit Koodali. Her research is related to the development of novel nanostructured materials that can effectively harness solar energy and assist in the degradation of harmful pollutants.
