USD Farber Forum Features Former Congressmen Barry Goldwater Jr and David Minge
VERMILLION, S.D. — Former congressmen Barry Goldwater Jr. of California and David Minge of Minnesota will speak Oct. 19 about “Civility & Compromise in Congress” at the University of South Dakota's Congress-to-Campus Farber Forum.
Goldwater served as a Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1970 to 1984 and currently is in private business. Minge was a Democratic member of the U.S. House from 1992 to 2000 and served as an appellate judge until his retirement in 2012.
The forum, sponsored by the Farber Center for Civic Leadership and the USD Political Science League, is free and open to the public. It starts at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, at Farber Hall in Old Main on the USD campus.
