USD fraternity hosts Cure Kids Cancer benefit Thursday Night Live
Proceeds from “Thursday Night Live” will benefit Cure Kids Cancer, an organization dedicated to finding life-saving treatments for children’s cancer. Cure Kids Cancer locally supports the Sanford Children’s Hospital and works with television and radio stations, and corporate partners to raise funds and public awareness to help keep kids with cancer as close to home as possible.
Last year, Pi Kappa Alpha raised more than $2,000 thanks to generous donations from local businesses and community support. The organization’s goal this year is to double that amount.
“This is a cause very important to our brothers,” stated Brenan Tjelmeland, philanthropy chair, “and we could not be more excited to benefit Cure Kids Cancer.”
In addition to raising funds through ticket sales for “Thursday Night Live” (tickets are $5) and a T-shirt sale, Pi Kappa Alpha is hosting a toy drive to benefit the children of Sanford Health. Persons donating a new toy will be entered in a chance to win a prize at “Thursday Night Live.”
