Brittany Piper, a leading national expert on sexual violence and prevention, will provide the keynote address. Piper uses her story of adversity, resilience and triumph to empower and inspire audiences to take brave action in their own lives and communities.

“I CARE is thrilled to be able to bring Brittany Piper to campus,” said Jordan Bonstrom, director of Student Rights & Responsibilities and interim coordinator of I CARE Sexual Violence Prevention Programs. “Her ability to connect and inspire audiences is something that will make a large impact on our continued efforts to prevent and respond to sexual violence. We hope students, faculty and staff will be able to hear her message and join I CARE in supporting Denim Day and shattering the silence around sexual violence.”

In order to achieve social distancing at the Demin Day Symposium, overflow seating will also be available throughout the building. Visit usd.edu/icare to register to attend virtually.

The USD community is also invited to wear denim on Wednesday, April 28 to stand with millions of others across the world in support of sexual violence awareness and education. Those who participate and use the #USDdenimday on their social media platforms will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a custom denim jacket created by USD Student Government Association Vice President Katie Brust. The winner will be announced at the Denim Day Symposium.
