USD Hosts School Psychology Symposium
“The School Psychology Symposium is an opportunity for current students, alumni, professionals, and community members to come together out of mutual interest in the success of all children,” said Amy Schweinle, chair of the counseling and psychology in education division at USD. “The spring symposium this year is aimed at early childhood education and intervention with a cross-disciplinary panel to explore issues from a variety of lenses.”
The symposium’s keynote address will feature Carmen Stewart, Director of USD’s Head Start program. Stewart, who has over 20 years of experience in Head Start, also oversees the offered services for the Pregnant Women, Early Head Start, and Head Start Home and Center-based programs.
A professional panel including faculty and students from the Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, School Counseling, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry programs will cap off the event at 10:45 a.m.
The event is free for attendees with a student ID or $25 for professional staff.
