Fewer than 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and only four colleges outside the U.S. are profiled in this year's issue, which is The Princeton Review’s flagship college guide. It includes detailed profiles of the colleges based on the publication’s surveys of 130,000 students attending the colleges. USD receives praise for its attentive faculty and the Honors Program is described as “the best-kept secret in the country.” While the nursing program is the most frequently praised, The Princeton Review profile says USD’s “business, biology, premed, law and psychology classes are very solid” and that the “dental hygiene, music, and journalism” programs also standout.

The Princeton Review’s school profiles and ranking lists in “The Best 379 Colleges” are posted at PrincetonReview.com. USD is the lone South Dakota college or university featured in “The Best 379 Colleges,” which does not rank colleges academically or numerically from 1 to 379 in any category.
