USD recognized for affordability campus attractiveness
Affordable Schools ranks USD No. 5 on its list of the Top 30 Most Attractive/Most Affordable Campuses in the Nation. Schools featured on the list had to be qualified as affordable – with one or both of tuition fees and total cost of attendance below the national average. Colleges and universities also needed to have campuses deemed to be attractive by Affordable Schools, including factors such as green spaces, views and architecturally significant buildings.
Affordable Schools praises USD for its affordability and aesthetics, stating “whether from in state or out of state, undergraduates will pay less than $20,000 for the total cost of attending during the 2014-15 school year" and "the 274-acre university grounds comfortably combine striking old and new structures.” Citing Old Main as well as the Wellness Center, Affordable Schools notes that USD's campus buildings are eye-catching and eco-friendly.
