USD researcher to address lessons of H1N1
VERMILLION, S.D. -- Victor Huber, Ph.D., assistant professor of Basic Biomedical Sciences of the Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota, will discuss lessons learned from the H1N1 virus during a talk on the USD campus this Thursday.
The campus chapter of Sigma Xi, the scientific research society, is sponsoring the presentation, “What Is the Pandemic H1N1 Virus Teaching Us?” The discussion will take place Dec. 3 at noon in Room 107 in the Andrew E. Lee Memorial Medicine and Science Building at The University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion.
Huber will present the context of historical pandemics as well as an update on vaccine efforts against influenza. He also will discuss how prepared we were for the pandemic and how we should better prepare for future pandemics.
