The symposium will feature a number of speakers who have researched current issues related to the Missouri River and its basin. Topics include hydrology, sedimentology, effects of river management, riparian forests and fish and wildlife. There will be information on educational projects related to the river as well. Presenters are from USD, South Dakota State University and federal and state government agencies.

The day-long event will conclude with a film showing of “River of Change” and a panel discussion. Produced by the National Park Service, “River of Change” celebrates the 40th anniversary of the designation of the Missouri National Recreational River, which includes the 39-mile segment below Fort Randall Dam and the 59-mile segment below Gavins Point Dam.
