Works by watercolor artist Sharon Gray featured The Us UAG
Gray began painting in 2006 after a close-out art supply sale at the bookstore at Augustana College, where she is the Instructional Technologist. She found that by the time she arrived at the sale, there were very few colors of paint left. But, that turned out to be a fortunate turn of events. Gray credits learning to paint with a very limited palette as one of the main reasons she was able to explore the medium without being overwhelmed.
"It forced me to develop skills in mixing colors," she admitted. Her paintings are often mistaken for photographs or oils because of their dense color. "Had I started painting with lower quality materials, I might not have been nearly as pleased with the results."
