Welcome to USD's Academic Advising and Success Center
The Academic Advising and Success Center has all the necessary resources to guide and assist your college experience.
Adjusting to college life can be difficult, and we want to make the transition to college as simple and as fun as possible. College is a time to explore your interests and find where your passions lie. Through programs, seminars and various services, the center allows students to focus their energy on the exciting aspects of building their future while our dedicated team of professionals aid the complex process. Take advantage of the resources that can help you be a successful student. The Academic Advising and Success Center provides comprehensive services designed to strengthen learning and promote the success and retention of students.
Academic Advising
Assistance with class planning and registration, understanding course requirements, declaring a major or minor, adding or dropping classes, identifying campus resources, understanding university policies and procedures, and more. First Year Experience Programs
One-credit classes designed to help you succeed academically and socially as you navigate your first semester at USD. Please visit First Year Experience for more information.
Learning Specialists
Several Learning Specialists are available to consult with students and help them identify evidence-based strategies to maximize their learning and academic success. Students can schedule an appointment with a Learning Specialist through the Navigate360 app (under Learning) or by contacting our office. Please visit Academic Support for more information.
Tutoring
Free tutoring is available in most subject areas. Tutors can assist students with class material, answering questions, or with studying for exams. Students can schedule an appointment with a tutor through the Navigate360 app (under Tutoring).
USD students also have access to a free, online tutoring platform, Tutor.com, which offers on-demand tutoring that is available anytime, anywhere. Students can access Tutor.com through Desire2Learn, selecting any course shell, and clicking on USD Resources.

Supplemental Instruction
USD offers collaborative, peer-led learning sessions designed to support students in difficult courses to develop learning strategies and gain better mastery of the course content. Students can view the current SI Course Schedule at Supplemental Instruction.
Navigate360 and Coyote Connections
USD students have access to Coyote Connections, which is a student success platform designed to provide personalized information to help students stay on the path toward academic success. Students can access their Coyote Connections account through their student portal or via the Naviage360 app.
