Kristen Hadeed, Author of 'Permission to Screw Up' and Founder of Student Maid, to Speak at USD
Hadeed’s presentation titled, “Igniting the Spark Within You,” will emphasize the significance of empowering oneself to redefine success on their own terms and taking ownership of the future by exploring four key elements: passion, growth, freedom and belonging.
Hadeed said she believes that authentic human leadership can change the world. In college, Hadeed started a cleaning business called Student Maid, and before she graduated, her company received a contract to clean hundreds of apartments. Hadeed hired a team of 60 people to help her, and within days, 75% of that team quit, leading her to obsess over the topic of leadership.
Over 14 years, Hadeed took Student Maid from a small cleaning company to a business known on a global scare for its culture of belonging, its focus on people and its purpose of building leaders. Hadeed has worked in every industry; has been featured on major news outlets such as PBS, FOX Inc., NBC, TIME and Forbes; has sold more than 40,000 copies worldwide as a thought-leadership author; and has TED Talks with millions of views.
