The conference, which will be held at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, aims to foster collaboration between industry leaders, academic experts and government officials to bridge the gap between research and commercially viable products and bolster innovation in South Dakota.

Sponsored by IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, IEEE-USA IWRC will focus on the CHIPS Act and other government programs that promote innovation and small business in rural America. Signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022, the CHIPS Act seeks to advance the country’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and promote technological breakthroughs.

Santosh will share a presentation “The CHIPS Act, AI and the Future,” highlighting how advanced chip technology can merge with the transformative potential of AI to shape global industries.

“I will emphasize the need for teamwork to push innovation, economic growth and societal change through top-notch AI chip development,” said Santosh. “Given our collaborative efforts in AI among higher education institutions, South Dakota has the potential to contribute to initiatives such as the CHIPS Act with sustainable AI solutions, as we already have placed state-of-the-art AI programs across the state.”
