USD Theatre Presents ‘The Lightning Thief’
In this whirlwind adventure, Percy Jackson, a misfit middle schooler with ADHD, sets off on an epic journey to retrieve Zeus’s missing lightning bolt. Myths and monsters will come to life onstage in the Knutson Theatre in this lively musical adapted from Rick Riordan’s bestselling novel.

The story follows Jackson, as he learns that being different is not just OK, but heroic. He embarks on a dangerous quest, running across terrifying monsters, old gods, and making new friends in the process.
This production features Jamie Lennon, the lead actor from last season’s hit “Bat Boy: The Musical,” taking on another challenging role as Percy Jackson.
“The Lightning Thief” takes the audience on a joy ride in the magical world of Camp Half-Blood, featuring exciting stage combat, beautiful dance choreography and an undoubtedly catchy soundtrack that includes hits like "Good Kid,” “Another Terrible Day” and “My Grand Plan.”
Professor Lainie Vansant, Ph.D., will be directing the Knutson stage for the first time.
