Dr. Betsy J. Becker serves as Dean of the University of South Dakota School of Health Sciences, advancing innovation, collaboration, workforce development, and student success through strategic leadership, partnerships, and scholarship
Dr. Becker has enjoyed teaching undergraduate, graduate, and professional students throughout her career. She values learning alongside her students while encouraging collaboration, leadership, curiosity, and lifelong growth in healthcare.
Dr. Becker's scholarly work is focused on advancing health sciences education through innovation and collaboration. Her areas of interest include educational technology, interprofessional education, faculty development, professional networks, student wellness, lifestyle medicine, and strategies that support academic success and workforce readiness. In addition, she has contributed to the dissemination of evidence-based cancer rehabilitation practices. Dr. Becker has presented her work nationally and internationally and has authored peer-reviewed articles and book chapters that support the advancement of health professions education and the development of future healthcare leaders.
