USD’s MBA program was ranked No. 51 out of 295 online MBA programs, rising 18 placements since 2020. In the ranking for online graduate business programs (excluding MBA), the MPA program increased 21 spots to No. 34 out of 164 programs.

“Our online programs continue to climb in rankings from several prestigious organizations, placing us in the company of some of the best-known business programs in the nation,” said Venky Venkatachalam, Ph.D., dean of the Beacom School of Business. “It is clear that our dedication to innovation and student success is making a positive impact on our programs overall.”

“As a career analyst, I did extensive research comparing different online MBA programs. When making my choice, USD had everything I was looking for including a marketing specialization, AACSB accreditation and the absolute best tuition,” said Kim Raines, online MBA student. “I was impressed with the MBA program from day one. I found the faculty at USD to be tremendously helpful, very knowledgeable and truly invested in student success. The curriculum was challenging, well-paced and relevant to my career. Furthermore, the Beacom School of Business offered numerous opportunities and programs for students to get involved. Therefore, even a remote student like myself could feel like part of the team. I found my experience at USD to be truly invaluable.”

U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on indicators such as student services and technology, faculty credentials, and student engagement, using data collected directly from each institution. Only degree-granting programs that are offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions were considered, and the programs that score the highest are those applying educational best practices specific for distance learners.

“We are so pleased to have our online MBA and MPA ranked among the best in the nation,” said USD President Sheila K. Gestring. “Recognitions such as these are a testament to the commitment and hard work of our faculty and staff at the Beacom School of Business.”
