Incoming USD Student Miles Krajewski to Compete in 2024 Paralympic Games
Originally from Yankton, South Dakota, Krajewski will represent Team USA in the Badminton Singles and Mixed Doubles.
“It means so much to me to be able to represent not only Team USA but also my community who has helped me throughout my journey,” said Krajewski.
Krajewski has been playing badminton since he was 10 years old and competed in his first international tournament that same year. He barely missed representing Team USA in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, short just one spot.
Krajewski is globally ranked first in Badminton Doubles with a recurring partner, Vitor Tavares of Brazil, and seventh in Singles. He has won two gold medals at the Parapan American Games Santiago 2023 and two bronze medals at the 2024 world championships in Pattaya, Thailand.
“It means a lot to finally accomplish my dreams,” Krajewski said. “I am most looking forward to being on the biggest stage in the world, competing as well as taking in this amazing opportunity that I have been gifted through my hard work and dedication.”
Krajewski has had a busy summer not only training at the Frisco Badminton Academy in Frisco, Texas, but also preparing for his first semester as a college student at USD.
Joining the Coyote community as a business administration major, Krajewski said he chose USD because it is close to home. He looks forward to many of the experiences USD has to offer and said, “I’m excited to meet new friends and play intramural sports.”
