USD Community Members Honored in South Dakota Hall of Fame Class of 2026
The South Dakota Hall of Fame honors individuals from a broad range of fields whose life’s work has had a profound impact in South Dakota and beyond. The Class of 2026 will be celebrated at this year’s Honors Ceremony on Sept. 11 and 12, 2026, in Chamberlain/Oacoma. The public is invited to attend, with tickets going on sale in July.
“This year’s South Dakota Hall of Fame Inductee Class of 2026 represents the best of South Dakota—individuals whose leadership, commitment to their communities and achievements have helped shape our state,” said USD President Sheila K. Gestring. "Our university community is proud to see that the class includes the late Dr. Susan Marie Anderson, Dr. H. Eugene Hoyme, Michelle Gross Lavallee, the late David Ellwood Lust and Dr. Daniel G. Petereit. We are inspired by their legacies and honored to be a part of their stories.”
