USDs Gesteland Nationally Recognized for Opera Stage Direction
Gesteland was one of 15 national finalists.

The American Prize is a series of non-profit national competitions in the performing arts providing cash awards, professional adjudication and regional, national and international recognition for the best recorded performances by ensembles and individuals each year. The American Prize was founded in 2009 and is awarded annually.
USD Opera was also selected by The American Prize judges as a national finalist for the Ernst Bacon Memorial Award for the Performance of American Music in 2019-20 for “The Consul.”
