The USD Sanford School of Medicine is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) which accredits medical schools in the U.S. and Canada.
The USD Sanford School of Medicine (SSOM) is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), which accredits medical schools in the United States. Each school undergoes a complete accreditation survey at least every eight years. The most recent survey of SSOM occurred October 6-8, 2025, and the LCME determined at its February 10-12, 2026 meeting to grant full accreditation of the medical education program for an eight-year term. The next full survey visit will take place in 2033-2034. Our medical community can be proud that the excellence we live out each day was recognized.
