Do you need more space for a group event, research or other occasion? The University Libraries offers the opportunity to reserve rooms.

USD provides you with everything you need to pursue your academic endeavors -- and that includes rooms and technology. You can reserve room space for group events, editing, research, classes and much more. All it takes is a USD student or faculty I.D. If you need help with any library access, contact [email protected].

E-Collaborative Rooms First Floor - 113, 114, 115, 116, 121B

Reserve a Space or Check Room Availability

  • Select: ULB (Rm #) in Space Details.
  • Capacity: seven people; must be two or more in group.
  • Use: For study or collaboration on projects.
  • Features: Flat screen monitor, computer, keyboard and mouse, hookups for laptop. Check out markers and erasers for glass at circulation desk.
  • Reservations: Can be reserved for up to four hours at a time.
  • Open to: all USD users.
  • Access: Check out key at the circulation desk and return key when leaving the building or by library closing.
  • Late Arrivals: Reserved room will be held for 20 minutes past your beginning reservation time. After 20 minutes your room may be checked out on a walk-up basis to another patron.

Small Study Rooms - 201A, 201C, 201D, 201E, 201F, 209, 210, 211, 301A, 301B, 301C, 301D, 301E, 301F

Reserve a Space or Check Room Availability

  • Select: ULB (Rm #) in Space Details.
  • Capacity: 1-2 people.
  • Use: For quiet study or two person meetings.
  • Features: Table or desk, two chairs, whiteboard. Check out markers and erasers at circulation desk. Lockers available for storing library and personal research materials.
  • Reservations: Can be reserved for up to four hours at a time.
  • Open to: all USD users.
  • Access: Check out key at the circulation desk. Return key when leaving the building or by library closing.
  • Late Arrivals: Reserved room will be held for 20 minutes past your beginning reservation time. After 20 minutes your room may be checked out on a walk-up basis to another patron.

Group Study Rooms - 202, 203, 204, 206, 207

Reserve a Space or Check Room Availability

  • Select: ULB (Rm #) in Space Details.
  • Capacity: six people; must be two or more in group rooms.
  • Use: Groups of two or more to study or collaborate on projects for up to four hours at a time.
  • Features: Whiteboard. Check out markers and erasers at circulation desk.
  • Reservations: Room can be reserved for up to four hours at a time.
  • Open to: all USD users.
  • Access: Check out key at the circulation desk and return key when leaving the building or by library.
  • Late Arrivals: Reserved room will be held for 20 minutes past your beginning reservation time. After 20 minutes your room may be checked out on a walk-up basis to another patron.

Conference Room - 132C

Reserve a Space or Check Room Availability

  • Select: ULB132C in Space Details.
  • Capacity: 12 people; must be two or more in group.
  • Use: Graduate students, faculty, and staff may make reservations or may borrow without a reservation, pending room availability.
  • Open to: Graduate students, faculty, staff.
  • Reservations: Room can be reserved from one to seven days.
  • Features: Computer projector, Smart Board, VHS/DVD player, conference phone. Check out from ITS Help Desk. Provide fund code for phone call charges.
  • Access: Checkout the key at the circulation desk and return it before the end of the check-out period.
  • Late Arrivals: Reserved room will be held for 20 minutes past your beginning reservation time. After 20 minutes your room may be checked out on a walk-up basis to another patron.

Electronic Classroom - 323

  • Capacity: 26
  • Use: Electronic classroom dedicated to library instruction - Non-recurring use only.
  • Open to: Library faculty; occasional non-recurring use by faculty when requested less than two weeks before the event (faculty member must be present).
  • Reservations: Email Carol Leibiger ([email protected]) or complete the instruction request form.
  • Access: Checkout the key at the circulation desk and return it before the end of the check-out period.
  • Features: Instructor computer, projector, projection screen, dry erase board, 26 PC workstations.

Meeting/Classroom - 205

Reserve a Space or Check Room Availability

  • Select: ULB (Rm #) in Space Details.
  • Capacity: 40 people; must be two or more in group.
  • Use: Graduate students, faculty, staff and organizations may make reservations or may borrow without a reservation, pending room availability
  • Open to: Graduate students, faculty, staff and organizations.
  • Reservations: Room can be reserved from one to seven days. Graduate students, faculty, staff and organizations may reserve this room.
  • Features: Instructor computer, projector, SMART BOARD w/instruction manual and a dry erase board.
  • Access: Checkout the key at the circulation desk and return it before the end of the check-out period.
  • Late Arrivals: Reserved room will be held for 20 minutes past your beginning reservation time. After 20 minutes your room may be checked out on a walk-up basis to another patron.

Faculty and Graduate Student Writing Room - 201G

  • Capacity: Seven people.
  • Use: Faculty and graduate students to work individually or collaboratively on writing projects.
  • Open to: Faculty, emeritus faculty, visiting scholars and graduate students.
  • Walk-up: Six hour checkout, if available.
  • Access: Check out key from and return key to the Circulation Desk. Key may not be taken from the library.
  • Features: Equipped with flat screen monitor, computer, keyboard, mouse, hookups for laptop, whiteboard, table and comfortable chairs.
