Appeals Process
At the University of South Dakota, we want you to have every possibility to succeed. If you did not initially meet all of the admissions requirements and would like USD to reconsider your admissions decision, you may petition for admission through the Scholastic Probation Policy appeal process.
Submitting an Appeal
To begin the appeals process, submit the following information to the USD Office of Admissions:

Please account for any academic performances or grades that may not have been at the level needed for admission to USD and address the steps you have taken to ensure future academic success if you were to be offered admission. |
Additional Requested Materials: |
Updated or final, official transcripts may be required for some applicants. Your admissions counselor will request the necessary materials for your appeal if required by the appeal committee. |

Consideration of Appeals
Once your materials are received, the appeals committee will meet and review your file. You will be notified of the committee's decision via email and mail.
Appeal Timelines
Appeal materials must be received by the deadline below for your intended entry term.
- Summer term: April 15
- Fall term: August 1
- Spring term: December 15
