Sorority Chapters & Recruitment

Make lifelong friends and memories in a sorority.

Sorority Chapters

The USD sorority community is comprised of four sorority organizations and is governed by the USD Panhellenic Council. While all four are values-based organizations with their own founding values and pillars, all chapters focus on:

  • Academic excellence
  • Leadership development
  • Commitment to campus
  • Community involvement

Each sorority is governed by the rules provided by the Panhellenic Council.

How to Join

  • USD Panhellenic sororities typically take members through a formal process called Primary Recruitment, which always occurs in the fall semester. In Fall 2026, Primary Recruitment will be held from September 4-7, over Labor Day weekend. Registration will open in May and close after the first day of the fall semester.
  • Some chapters may also recruit new members through an informal process called Continuous Open Bidding (COB), which occurs throughout the fall and spring semesters.

Learn About Recruitment

During recruitment, you'll tour chapter houses, meet members and learn more about each chapter's approach to scholarship, philanthropy and social events. Sororities and fraternities at USD provide a formal membership recruitment week, both of which are governed by their respective Panhellenic/Interfraternity Council recruitment rules.
