Dr. Keith Hansen Elected South Dakota State Medical Association President

The SDSMA is a professional organization representing practicing physicians, residents, medical students and retired physicians who are all dedicated to patient health and advancing the practice of medicine.
Hansen has been an active member of the SDSMA since 1998, when he joined the SSOM. He is a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at Sanford Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Clinic.
Involved in leadership in medicine for many years, Hansen is a member of the American Medical Association and has held several positions on the SDSMA Board of Directors, SDSMA Policy Council and his local District 7 Medical Society. Hansen also serves on the boards of the SDSMA Foundation and the SDSMA Political Action Committee. Additionally, he is the editor of the SDSMA’s monthly peer-reviewed medical journal, South Dakota Medicine.
“Protecting the sanctity of the patient-physician relationship is a core principle of the SDSMA,” said Hansen. “I am deeply honored by the trust my peers have placed in me and am eager to work alongside our members to fight for the highest quality health care for every South Dakotan.”
