As you continue your academic career at USD, you will meet with an adviser specifically assigned to you to help you stay on track throughout your academic journey.

Undergraduate students looking for ways to connect and build up their skills for professional and academic success can connect with our Student Success Coaching program. The Student Success Coaching program is the key for students who need to connect to a someone who can help them along their journey. This program connects students to masters level students in applicable fields like Social Work, Psychology, etc., to provide students with coaching to help them overcome barriers and navigate obstacles that might impede their progress. Through one-on-one interactions, Success Coaches support and encourage students to achieve their educational goals. For students experiencing academic difficulties, Success Coaches are thoughtful facilitators who foster persistence and completion.

We recognize that students have a variety of personal challenges that are not necessarily tied to academic challenges that a face-to-face tutor might support, but rather more life situation related. These challenges impact the student’s retention and progress. Success Coaches serve as a go-to person and would serve as a source of accountability and motivation, working alongside advisors and faculty to support student success. Success Coaching at USD - Sioux Falls provides support to students in ways that are different from advising, tutoring, or other “tactical” guidance.
